Close Chronic Pain

Live with chronic, life thieving pain. I am dependent upon narcotic pain medication to be functional and have quality of life. Seperated from husband over year ago/lost insurance. Problems upon change to medicaid. New dr. wants to take me off meds. , tapering me off now. Devastating my life(college, parenting, housekeeping, independant living...etc.) What are my rights? Please help.

Treatments

Acupressure Somewhat Helpful

1st practicioner helped alot with relieving muscle tension. 2nd did not help at all.

Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working

Because of constant intense muscle tension adj. increases pain, does damage not good

Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful

I did not notice any positive change when I switched frm effexor to cymb

Flexeril Not Working

actually exacerbated my spasms(which occur almost constantly)

Heat Working / Worked

soothing but not lasting relief

Hydrocodone Working / Worked

Was prescribed early on in low dosages/few doses. Helped somewhat bt not completely, and sometimes very litle

Lidoderm Not Working

Tried early on. did not work, penetration not deep enough at point of app. and will not help throughtout. also doesnt stick well

Lyrica Working / Worked

makes drowsy. did not wk at low dosage but does curb next days pain now at 200mg @bedtime

Meditation Working / Worked

helps mental outlook, mental energy

Mobic Not Working

neg. effects on stomach outwayed any benefits

Morphine Not Working

@ 15 mg 4xpd makes me feel dazed tired fuzzy affects concentration,memory causing depression

Naproxen Somewhat Helpful

helped increase effectiveness of pain med. but adverse effect on gi

Nerve Blocks Somewhat Helpful

had 3 procedures. helped with range of motion. had immediate allergic reaction to 3rd treatment

Neurontin Too Soon to Tell

side effects were immediaely terrible, felt "drugged" confused, heavy arms, dizzy

Oxycodone Working / Worked

when used with diclofenac PATCH most complete relief yet, but it does not work the duration it is supposed to, pain returns after about 2 hours But has few to no side effects for me, enables my functioning

Physical Therapy Not Working

effectiveness depends upon practicioner/much like accupunc. Was working at prac. before move. Did not at most recent

TENS Somewhat Helpful

Distracted from pain at site of app. somewhat but not helpfl for broadspectrum pain, or while active
