Close ADHD / ADD
My custodial granddaughter is ADD. We discovered this at end of freshman yr. in high school having her evaluated for depression shortly after mother's sudden death. Also, my grandson is in the process of being tested fo ADHD/ADD & he is type 1 diabetic.
Treatments
- Focalin Working / Worked
- Worked but not as well as Vyvanse, she felt a little too slow motion. Went back to Vyvanse
- Vyvanse Working / Worked
- works very well, wears off a little earlier in the day now, but she has learned to get on the homework as soon as home because she wil loose that sharpness soon. Fortunately in high school, gets home early, except when works at after school job. Major side effect-appetite suppression-had some weight loss issues in beginning, but she is more mature now and understands more about forcing herself to eat something nutricious even thoguh a small about several times a day, plus a good multivitamin.
Close Diabetes Type 1
My 8 yr. old grandson was diagnosed at age 5.
Treatments
- Insulin Pump Working / Worked
- Better than injections, although has had some problems needing to change out sooner than should probably because of scar tissue affecting how cath is inserted.
Open Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
Brother diagnosed with Crohn's approximately 4 yrs. ago. Receives remicaid infusions every 6-8 wks. Mostly doing well.

- Remicade Working / Worked
- seems to be working favorably
