My beloved daughter, truly my best friend, Christiana, was killed at 33 in a motorcycle accident in North Carolina, where she lived with her husband, on July 21, 2007. Two+ years later, I'm devasted, always will be. It's a blessing to know I'm not 'the only one'. It's provided me with a bizarre strength, knowing nothing worse could happen to me in this world. I have a great career that helped me carry on; I'm divorced, she was my only child.

Have a safe trip. I hope you'll be able to log on while in India. I understand journaling "publicly" is hard at first. I suggest a simple journal for your first one....your hug to me could be a journal entry.....you shared your current moment/thoughts/plans, that's what it's all about. It will all evolve. Don't feel like you have to start from the beginning and tell your entire life story....unless of course that what YOU need. Just like meeting someone face to face, you say hi first, then slowly share a few details. This is much the same, except we start with an understanding of a deep pain we all share. When you're ready, I'm sure you will do just fine with your journal. I think it's great that you have a personal journal just for Christiana. Many moms do. Love and hugs, Teri.

Hello and welcome to ForMomsOnly. Christiana is SO beautiful!!! I'm so very sorry for your loss. I too have buried an incredible daughter, Jan 2, 2007. It's been a long hard journey, but the moms here have helped me so much. Like you said, it helps just knowing you're not the only one. Here you'll find a safe place to vent, cry, and in all ways express your pain. We understand it all, because we too feel it all. I encourage you to journal often and to read the journals of others.
