Close Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

I work in a trauma center and every day I see horrible things. I am starting to have trouble dealing with it. At times I feel so cut off from normal people. I don't want to see a shrink that will want to put me on medication. I find myself doing crazy things just to get the craziness out of my head. Last week I helped in a surgery where the guy shot his face off but lived. How do you have a normal conversation after that? I love my job but I am afraid it will eat me up.

It gets to a point where you have to take it every night and doctors are really hesitant to prescribe it. If you act like you need it they wont give it.
