Close Ankylosing Spondylitis
I was diagnosed in May of 2009 with AS. I have had back pain for 20 years and tried everything from exercise to epidurals and pain medication. I'm on enbrel and methotrexate now. I had severe hip and back pain, and an MRI showed a large mass which doctors initially thought was a tumor. It turned out it was inflammation of my illeosacral joint...a classic diagnosis and symptom of AS. I'm positive for HLA-B27 as well.
Treatments
- Enbrel Working / Worked
- I've been on enbrel for 6 months and haven't noticed any difference yet. I've started methotrexate (10 mg) weekly 2 weeks ago and I hate the side effects!
