diagnosed with UC Jan 2008 I just had my first baby, a beautiful little girl, on Oct 6, 2009.
Treatments
- Asacol Somewhat Helpful
- only worked at the very beginning and not very well
- Dietary Modification Somewhat Helpful
- there are foods that make my symptoms worse. the biggest culprit is fiber (it sits like a rock in my digestive system if I have too much) Also I can no longer eat corn or oatmeal or Ramen noodles.
- Entocort Working / Worked
- same as asacol, worked when i first started taking it but that's about it.
- Lialda Working / Worked
- Currently taking 3 pills in the AM. Been taking Lialda since December 2008. Mostly works, but still have minimal symptoms.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- HATE IT!!! It does seem to do the trick in getting me into remission but the side effects are horrendous!! weight gain and facial swelling were the worst. The longest I've taken Prednisone was about 6 weeks.
