Looking for others who share in the fight with fibro and related probs. Struggling to find a new doc in a new area and find a treatment that helps!

      Treatments

      5-HTP Too Soon to Tell
Just started on this and not taking regular enough to tell if it will help.
      Cymbalta Not Working
didn't see any difference. not taking now as it cannot be used with 5-htp.
      Elavil Not Working
Didn't helpl much with the pain and made me a zombie!
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
Helps with some of my pain and esp with muscle spasms.
      Neurontin Not Working
Had a bad reaction to it and had to stop taking it.
      Zanaflex Somewhat Helpful
This helps reduice the frequency of spasms but does not stop them.
      Oxycodone Somewhat Helpful
It did help with the pain but I didnt like being on narcs. Off them now but with no good replacement.
    • Close ADHD / ADD

ADHD runs in my family, I know of at least 4 generations so far. It is also in my son's paternal side and in his wife's family! I have never taken meds for it, but my son has and he and his wife are trying to help their kids deak wuthout drugs.

    • Open Myofascial Pain Syndrome

I was diagnosed with MPS about 10 years ago along with Fibromyalgia and fague connective tissue symptoms. I would like to talk withothers who have it.

      Treatments

      Massage Somewhat Helpful
when I flare up my DIL or grandkids will often massage out the affected areas. That does seem to relieve some of the pain.
    • Open Anemia

I have been dealing with anemia most of my adult life, in part because of an enzyme defect that makes it hard for me to process some B vitamins from plant matter. I have to get these from meat or supplements.

      Treatments

      Dietary Modification Working / Worked
I have to make sure I get enough meat based proteins as well as good green veggies.
      Folic Acid Working / Worked
I have other medical issues that affect my folic acid levels so I have to supplement here
      Iron Somewhat Helpful
I do not handle many forms of iron supplements on the market. Childrens vitamins sometimes work.
      Vitamin B6 Working / Worked
This is included in my diet for more than one reason. But it is one I have to supplement.
    • Open Migraine Headaches

I have had migraine headaches since I was 15 y.o. I still get them on and off but they have for the most part been eclipsed by a constant headache called hemicrania continua. Since they both occur on the same side and share some symptoms it can be hard to know whick I am dealing with at times!

      Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
This can help if you know your triggers. I am sensitive to nitrates.
      Imitrex Working / Worked
have had it a couple times and it worked fairly well for the migraine. Useless with the hemicrania headache though
      Midrin Working / Worked
First thing I was ever on. It worked pretty well.
      Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
Helps some but not as well as the Midrin

      Heat Somewhat Helpful
helps relax the back muscles when too tense.
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
Have been on these types in the past with fair result. NOt on any now.
      Ibuprofen Somewhat Helpful
gives mild but not complete relief and helps me move easier
      Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
help0s a little, does more for my hands than my back.
      Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
Helped for a while but I admit, I'm not good at keeping up with the exercises
      Stretching Not Working
currently stretching stands a good chance of sending me into muscle spasms.
      TENS Somewhat Helpful
Used many years ago after a back injury and it did help a bit. May try again if I can get in to a good doctor.
