Oh no - broken my foot Mood
Friday, October 30, 2009 | A Frustrating story

The packing of my house was going well until my ankle went over and I fell off a curb into the road and breaking a bone in my foot!

I went to the Accident and Emergency Dept at the Royal Infirmary, had an xray and saw the break in my fifth metatarsil.. apparently common in footballers and rugby players.   Well that has put paid to me playing either!

My ankle often collapses as I do have very loose ligaments so this was an accident waiting to happen.  I phoned work to tell them I cannot come in for at least two weeks.  Of course this does not bode well seeing as I am in my final month of a 6 month contract.  Needless to say I am guessing my contract will not be extended, so back to the unemployment queue for me, once I can walk again of course!

I have seen that it can take 4-6 weeks/ months to heal completely.  This certainly has been a challenging year this year.

So here I am laid up in front of daytime TV......  So I let my daughter drive my car (she is a learner driver) to the market and I got some wool and am knitting to keep myself active.   I did not get on with my crutches at all seeing as my left leg is not 'stable' having had two ops on it already, and this is the leg that has to be the one I am using!  Also my elbows hurt so that using the crutches are near on impossible..Dyspraxia does dreadful things to the body that doesnt have an impact until you need to depend on the very joints that hurt/are unstable/worn out before time.

Still, the knitting is enjoyable and whatever happens with the job/my house/my mortgage/my foot, will happen without me worrying about my future.

Happy days to come
