About Me
I am 71 retired since I was 66. I am married and have two sons both in their 40s. My oldest son has two boys and my youngest has two boys and a girl. One of the boys is a latecomer and we enjoy him a lot since he is the only young one. I have been married since 1961 and intend to stay married to my wife. We have had an interesting life. I have lived in England for a year in the United States Air Force and after marriage we spent three wonderful years in Madrid Spain where both of our boys were born. I got out of the USAF and went to work as an electronic technician and later went to college. On graduation I was an Instrument Engineer for a chemical plant and went on to work in Nuclear power plants. where I retired. My hobby is stained glass. when I do it and my wife is presently into beads. Our favorite activity is reading. I play a little golf, badly.

Close Depression
I am 71, was having chest pains related to exercise, but thought the pains were related to heartburn. The pains became harder and lasted longer and I went back to my doctor and was set up for a stress test with ultrasonic testing. When the results came back, I was sent to a cardiologist who did an angiogram and placed two stents in coronary arteries that were 90% blocked. I am now in rehab and intend to keep it up for the rest of my life. I take 81 mg of aspirin, Plavix, atenonol, valsaetan and simvastatin. I feel very much better with the stents and no longer have any chest pains. Both of my doctors said that I was lucky to be alive, and having read a lot on line I agree. The key is that the pains were getting worse and longer. Although I did not have a heart attack or a MI, I was on the verge. I am thankful that I only had stents instead of open heart surgery which takes much longer to recover.
Close Coronary Heart Disease
I just had 2 stents for 90%closure of cornary arteries inserted. After surgery, I was completely unprepared for diet changes and lifestyle changes. Thankfully, I was sent to rehab at a nearby hospital. The nurses there have answered most of my questions and have helped me over the hard spots.
