Close Heart Attack
I found out through a pre-surgical EKG that I had a silent heart attack 6-12 months ago. To my knowledge, I didn't have symptoms and had no idea I had heart disease. I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic in 1992 and am very overweight, so I was probably in denial.
Treatments
- Aspirin Working / Worked
- I've taken 3-6 aspirin a day for years for systemic arthritis for years.
- Fish Oil Working / Worked
- I'm diabetic. I took 4 grams of fish oil for 3 months, and just got the results from my routine blood work. Much to my surprise, my triglycerides were within normal limits. It really works!
- Lipitor Somewhat Helpful
- I took 20 mg. of Lipitor for almost years and had very low cholesterol and triglycerides while taking it. I had no angina and no shortness of breath. I had no side effects. If it worked, would I have had a worse heart attack? I don't know.
Close Obesity
I'm 64, diabetic on insulin, and weighed in last week at 265 (lost 10 pounds in 2 months). I had a silent heart attack sometime in the last year. It's time for the extra weight to go....
