Close Hemochromatosis
I was diagnosed with hemochromatosis 8 years ago. Have received treatment in Illinois, Michigan and now Massachusetts. I was diagnosed because of beginning signs of cirrhosis of the liver which both my father and grandfather on my father side of family had when they died. It was blamed on alcoholism but now I believe it was because they both went untreated.
Treatments
- Phlebotomy Working / Worked
- Phlebotomy has worked for me. I now go to Rhodes Island Blood center because they do not charge to take my blood and they reuse it where other states I have lived in did not. I did have a PortaCath put in a bout 5 years ago because veins were getting to scarred but do not use it much because they are able to get to the veins easily and the portacath is not as easily accessible,

Type: Loss of a SiblingLost my oldest sister a year ago and she was the last of my biological family. I am in need fo support from others to deal with her passing and the passing of all my other family members.
