Diagnosed with sarc in May, 2009 from a liver biopsy. Have it in my lungs, liver, heart, and spleen. Being tested for neuro sarc. Had a ICD implanted on 8/31/09 due to full A/V block. Just trying to live with this disease and the horrible side effects from prednisone.

I have friends back in NY and I told my g/f to check this site out. Her husband is the one w/ sarcoidosis and since I've been a member for quite sometime, I thought I'd lurk around and see what more, just from posts, I could find out about it. What a F'd up thing to have. (no offense) I mean, sometimes we think it's just exaggeration, mind you I am friends w/ BOTH of them. , but just from what I gather here, it seems like everyone is going through the same battles and PAIN. My gosh! No news is good news, but I am anal about everything, I would have been annoying the docs a day after :)
As for you dad's passing, I have lost both my parents at a very young age and of course, losing loved ones become "natural" in my upbringing (unfortunately) if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here.
I'd like to learn more about Sarcoidosis... so if you ever want to go on a teaching lesson plan, vent away over here.-

Saw a response to a post on sarcoidosis post... sorry to hear of the passing of your father. And WOW, seems like you have an excellent group of doctors.

I was dx's with sarc in May, 2009 through a liver biopsy, and now it seem I have systemic sarc: lungs, liver, heart, spleen and possible neuro.
Treatments
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Haven't coughed since I started taking it. Heart feels great due to ICD and pred, but the side effects are KILLER! The hunger is what gets me...! Now I know how a vampire feels for blood! I can't stop eating! I lost about 50 lbs over the first 6 months of this year from the sarc, but have put back on about 15 lbs since September...all hail salad!!
