Hugbook
Rainbow
Hi,
Thanks for sending the hug. It is extremely to difficult to cut down on Xanax. That is why Prof. Ashton advocates switchng to a longer acting benzo. You won't have the ups and downs you get with Xanax. It explains it all in the Ashton Manual at that web site I sent you. Please read it. I know it can be scary to try and deal with this while you are working, but I do know many people who have done it. For many people, the stuff just stops working, and for others, the side effects come later, and are debilatating. I did not have problems with it at first either. If you hit that wall, then you will have a much harder time getting off of it, and it could certainly affect your ability to work. The key is to go very slowly. I don't know how much you have tried cutting your Xanax by, but I can assure it was too big of a cut. If you switch to Valium, you can make much smaller dosage cuts, and it makes it much easier to handle. I cannot see the post you sent me from this screen, but if the other medication you mentioned is what you think is causing the bleeding , why not get off it? Why are they trying to treat it with hormones? From what I understood, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that medicine is for depression? Well, Xanax CAUSES depression. I have more to tell you, buy I cannot write in this little tiny box. Sorry. I literally just joined this site, and I really do not know how to use it yet. I appreciate the hug you sent, and I thank you for it. Please do feel free to email me directly any time also. jjfrazzz@yahoo.com If things do progress to the point where they want to remove your uterus, and the only symptom for that is the bleeding, please let me know first and I will put you in touch with someone who is a lot more knowledgable than I am, who may be able to offer you some alternative solution. I have had a plethora of problems from my hysterectomy, and I cannot tell you how much I wish someone had told me about this before I had it done. Everyone thinks its not a big deal, that it sounds good, no more period, well there is a lot more too it than that. Anyway, please feel free to contact me any time, and please do check out the web site. It really does have the most accurate information available on benzos. www.benzo.org.uk
Take Care and let me know how you are,

Close Anxiety
To find an answer to a problem that I've suffered from for 35 years. I've been suffering from both depression and anxiety. Both have changed the way I live. I don't want to be controlled or defined by either. I am here for insight and (please God) an answer that might apply to me.
Treatments
- Breathing Exercises Working / Worked
- This works for me in addition to medication. If I'm really, really anxious and without meds. than forget anything; I've just gotta run!
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Tried this because it works incredibly well for a close relative (for their anxiety) BUT I gained weight and did not get relief from anxiety or depression. What works for one person may or may not work for another.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- I usually fall asleep. Extreme anxiety can be exhausting!
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- Positive thinking is a must. This does not come naturally for me when I'm anxious; however, if I catch myself in worry and anxious thoughts and switch my focus to gratitude... what a huge difference I experience.
- Xanax Working / Worked
- This works but I've become dependant on it. I don't like being dependant on it but I do like being able to function TOTALLY normally while on it.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- This worked for my depression but not so much for my anxiety. It also cause intense craving for chocolate.
