Close Cleft Lip / Palate
I'm 19 and I was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. I have had about 5 surgeries and there's more to come. i've struggled my whole life with self-esteem, and feeling good about myself. I've never had many friends but the ones i do have are the best friends ever. My family is my biggest support system, especially my mom. Though life has been a constant struggle, i continue to grow, and become stronger everyday.
Treatments
- Reconstructive Surgery Working / Worked
- I had my 1st surgery at 2 months to close the split in my lip. I didn't have my next surgery till I was 17. I had to wear a halo on my head to bring my upper jaw forward. After that i had jaw surgery to make both my jaws even. Then i had a bone graph.
