Hi! Im 14 years old and I live in Puerto Rico. I was diagnosed with hypertension a few monthsa ago, although Ive had it for a years now. My Dr. put me on Beta-blockers. I developed left ventricular hypertrophy(enlargement/thickeneing of the left vnetricle) Mitral valve regurgiation, and cardiac arrhythmias. I want to be a doctor when I grow up. I find blood-disorders and cancer interesting for me! And wish to be a pediatric hematologist/oncologist!

I'm on my way to the cardiologist in a few hours, and bless your heart for the info! I have a strong medical background but have heard or read little to nothing on this disorder! What is your arrythmia called? I'm bi and trigemini.....I just jotted down a few questions in my purse notebook to ask (you've inspired me, girlfriend!) I'll get back to you later.....don't study too much in the meantime! (we're cut out of the same cloth), so glad to have come across your friendship!

I have the same enlargement and find very little info on it at this site. If you happen to come across an appropriate support group on the net, let me know! I, like you, had problems all my life with this and my parents never told me....do you believe that? Now I'm old and it got worse so at least you know that you can and will survive with it, I'm living testimony! lol
