Close Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
Inherited PKD from my father. He had three children and all of have it. He had a transplant and has since passed away from a brain tumor. One brother has received a transplant, other brother is just getting on the list. I don't necessarily need a transplant, but my right kidney is very enlarged and painful. My doctor will not removed the kidney unless he transplants because of his fear about rejection. Not quite sure what to do. Too young to live with pain and restricted movement.
Treatments
- Prozac Somewhat Helpful
- It seems to help me to tolerate the pain better.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- It helps me to look at the problems others face that I dont have to worry about. Everyone has something worse than each of us do. At least I have options for my treatment.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- I have a very very supportive loving husband who tenderly cares for all of my needs good and bad.
