I’m With You
I understand--my daughter is now 24 and has turned into a nice young lady, but she is an individual! You've come to a good place here on DS. I've found great support. One thing that helped us when our dtr was little was to talk regularly with a child psychologist for a few months. She gave us ideas to try and encouragement. Maybe you could do that.

I myself have it . All I can say is that your little one will try your nerves , but this will be brought on by frustations outside the home ,and belive me not beingg able to concentrate and a possably having learning disabilty(is trying when teachers are allways telling you that you can do better if you apile yourself. , make sure the school is awear and for gods sake stay involed and in touch with them .Good luck.

Close Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
I am the mother of a sweet, affectionate 5yr old girl who has had attention issues for years now. And recently has had aggression both in and out of the home. She acts impulsively. And we've been told recently that she has ADHD and ODD.
Treatments
- Child Time-out Somewhat Helpful
- now that my daughter is older and bigger she is not staying in time out anymore and being more defiant.
- Focalin Somewhat Helpful
- Risperdal Too Soon to Tell

my 5yr old daughter has finally been diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. My husband and I are new to this journey and are struggling some days to have a good day without tantrums and tears (from us sometimes haha).

- not sure if it is working but doctor said we should get better results with a combination of another drug

- her kindergarten teacher is GREAT with her and has a plan and chart for her. And everyday she comes home with a behavior report and alot of stickers on it
- Listening Somewhat Helpful
- sometimes she listens well. sometims she doesn't. sometimes WE listen well and other times we don't.
- Patience Considering
- neither of us are very patient people. My husband and I try but once our buttons are pushed it is hard to maintain the patience.
