    • About Me

I am a 42 year old married woman, with a 4 year old son, diagnosed with UC about 4 1/2 years ago. The first outbreak landed me in the hospital for about a week and a half. I slowly recouped from that with the usual drugs, and had been in remission up until June of this year. This flare is just as bad as the first, just without the hospital. Dr added in sme meds, but I am just completely frustrated with the control this disease has over my life.

    • Thanks

      From crzyhrse November 2

That means alot to me to hear you say that. Thank you. I am going to call tomorrow and just let them know and then if I don't hear anything I will try again the next week and just keep calling and talking to them about it and see if I can come in for an interview and a tour of the place. Again thank you. I needed to hear that and yes, I don't like this time of year much. Being alone gets me depressed and not want to celebrate any holidays.

Utterly frustrated with latest flare - constant pain, so hard to do anything with my 4 year old - he doesn't understamd why mommy's tummy always hurts - just wondering about sharing information and learning how other people cope.

      Treatments

      Asacol Working / Worked
Is effective with upper portion of colon; latest flare is confined to sigmoid region and rectum - Last flare involved entire colon
      Prednisone Working / Worked
Currently on 10 mg - I honestly don't know if it's helping or not
      Purinethol Working / Worked
Currrently on 100 mg - this is my maintenance dosage - again, don;t know if it's working or not
