That is a great sign that he is showing more interest in his grooming. i am letting my Noah's hair grow again, it is so beautiful long! we had a great Christmas. Noah got a huge stuffed bear...he is into stuffed animals lately, and a little elmo whose legs and arms jerk when you pull them, and my older boys bought everyone gifts with the money they made from shoveling snow, i was so proud of them! they bought Noah one of those big blow-up things that you punch. i often worry about who will take care of him, i am hoping that, with four other kids, at least one of them will but, i see my daughter doing it because she has always been so nurturing. i am glad that he liked his gifts!

I just wanted to thank you for your friendship and wish you a great new year!

Close Autism / Autism Spectrum
Kris, age 12, has Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, ODD, obsessive compulsive disorder, sensory integretion disorder, etc.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- Our son, 2, had the worst case of ADHD we'd ever seen. He was non-verbal & we didn't want to put him on drugs so we used the Feingold diet without fail for 3 years.
- Behavior Management Not Working
- In home behavior management trainer in home for 3 years without much luck. Kris is smart and always outwitted us no matter what we did. So frustrating.
- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- When we adopted Kris we were told he may never sit, walk, talk or see. Thanks to occupation & physical therapy he does all of those things today. : )
- Floor-Time Therapy Working / Worked
- We used every single minute of every single day with therapy to help our son to succeed and he did. : )
- Occupational Therapy Working / Worked
- We had some of the BEST occupational therapists around. : ) They were always looking for ways to help us.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Kris hated horseback riding, initially. But, he grew to love it and it helped his coordination tremendously.
- Picture / Word Schedules Working / Worked
- Pictures for feelings worked but schedules don't always work before he fights to do things differently even when he craves schedules. ODD causes most problems.
