Close Families of Prisoners

My man received 18 to Life for 2nd degree Murder for a DUI that resulted in the other person dying 4 months 3 days later, a clerk for San Jose Jail of all things, we had Ineffective Assistance of Counsel, the DA prejudiced the jury, the Judge did NOT give proper jury instructions on Lesser Included or related. We hired a New attorney and have filed for an Appeal, with God's help my husband will come home to me SOON. . .:(

I stay busy and connected by doing research on the internet regarding penal codes, vehicular codes, Business/Professional codes of Ethics, State Bar informationn on what is considered Unethical Misconduct by a Lawyer, I stay informed and take an active role in everything that has to do with my husband and the Legal process, I find the rules and regulations for the prison he is at, San Quentin State Prison. It makes me feel that I'm doing something productive and Informing myself.

Talking Working / Worked

Yes, I have alot of communication with the different people that are involved in this whole process, from Lawyer to court reporter, Correctional officers, their supervisors, I don't let them get away with Disrespecting me or my man, I take it to the Person In Real Authority, Internal Affairs, HR person for the County Jail, a Very Supportive resource that is in place for us, we just need to Utilize it and be Pro- Active,& informed, when something is wrong or abusive, We NEED to change that! !

I write down everything and keep copies of everything related to the case; reports from cops, court documents, my lawyer sends me a copy of all correspondence , e-mail, court filings and documents.
