Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I have struggled with fatigue since high school, but it became debilitating about 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with active Cytomegalovirus. Recently it was discovered that the CMV is still active, along with Epstein Barr and HHV6. I am being treated on antiviral meds. The doc says it will take up to a year or more for the viruses to go dormant. Sometimes the loneliness of chronic fatigue is the hardest part.

Treatments

Lexapro Somewhat Helpful

I have used Lexapro in the past and currently take Prozac. Both of these meds take the edge off the low-grade depression, but they "poop out" on me after awhile so I alternate.

Valcyte Too Soon to Tell

I have been on Valcyte to treat Cytomegalovirus since May. Doctor says I need to be on it for a year or more, and probably won't notice a difference in my symptoms for 6 months to a year. No side effects.

Valtrex Too Soon to Tell

My Infectious Disease doctor has me taking a high dose of Valtrex to treat Epstein Barr and HHV6. I started in July. Need to be on it for a year or more.

Adderall Working / Worked

I take 80 mgs a day for fatigue and ADD. It usually helps me function, along with caffeine.

Lyrica Working / Worked

Lyrica greatly helps my muscle pain. I was dx'd with fibromyalgia, but my infectious disease doctor thinks the muscle pain is from the viruses. Either way, Lyrica makes a huge difference. I only take 50 mg. a day.
