Welcome KC53, you are not alone in your stuggle. Having a child who is an addict is the hardest thing any parent has to be faced with. Like bdms said we are here to listen, encourage and help ease your pain, sorrow, and fears. Yes we all here on parents of addicts have had way too many horror stories to count, and have walked in your shoes. Post as much as you need, this group has wonderful members, who are ready to help you. Stay strong and keep the faith. So glad that you found us. HUGS
Hi kc53, thank you for your response to my post. I hope we can help eachother!
Hi Kc53. I have a 17 yr old daughter who spent a year in a residential facility because she was at a point with cocaine and any drug or alcohol that we almost lost her. She is now 16 months CLEAN and is working very hard at staying that way. I am fortunate because I was able to put her where she needed to be since she's underage, and am so thankful she's here with me. I can only say that we all have had our share of horror stories here on DS, and are here to listen and encourage. Be strong and keep posting. It's the best therapy you can find! Hugs to you and welcome to this site. D.
Hang in there.
My daughter is an alcoholic and addict...she has been struggling for 15 years and I had to kick her out of my house and I am now caring for her 4 yr old full time. My emotions are everywhere..sad, mad, overwhelmed,
