Okay, so its been a long while since I updated this page because I have been so busy. The A-T Children's Project, a non-profit organization, aimed at finding a cure or life improving therapies for kids with A-T, is heading a tremendous project this fall. A man named Tim Borland will be running 63 marathons (that's 26.2 miles each), in 63 days, across the US, in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the A-T Children's Project, here on in known as ATCP. He will kick off the A-T CureTour, on September 3rd, at the Disneyland Half Marathon, which he will run twice, and end it at the New York City Marathon, on November 4th. He will be here in my town, Surprise, AZ, on Saturday September the 15th, running his 13th consecutive marathon. I have signed on to be the Event Host, which is why i have been so busy. A-T is short for Ataxia-Telangiectasia and it combines the worst symptoms of: muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, cancer and the immune deficiencies of AIDS. Kids with A-T are usually wheelchair bound by the age of 10 and often do NOT survive their teens. For information on the CureTour or the ATCP, please go to www.atcp.org. There you can donate or sign up for your local "Tailgate Party." A tailgate party is the celebration that begins as Tim finishes, whatever marathon he is running, in your city. A documentary film crew will be following Tim every step of the way. They are, Brad and Deb Carr, the same people who made the film: "Rwanda: Do Scars Ever Fade?" A film which was nominated for an Emmy and actually won the prestigious Peabody Award. Be a part of history and help us find a cure for my child and for the other A-T kids around the world. Thank you everybody!! I'll update again soon and let you know how we are doing.
