Close Gastric Cancer
Stomach removed in Jan 09. Followed by more chemo and radiation. Had feed (J tube) for awhile and now removed. Having trouble gaining weight.
Treatments
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- 1st sessions worked to contain cancer in stomach lining. Never went any further. Another round followed stomach removal
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- radiation followed chemo after stomach removal. Constricted my throat badly. Need dilation treatments periodically so I can swallow and eat. But all CT and Pet scans have come back normal .. so far so good
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Installed a Hunt Lawrence pouch which appears to be working well just need to eat small frequent meals. Cannot seem to get enough calories to sustain a weight gain
