    • About Me

I've always felt most at home in the outdoors, in really wild places. The quote, "In wilderness lies the salvation of mankind" holds very true for me. I've spent my life exploring the west, from Texas to Alaska, Montana to Washington. I love nothing better than setting out with my golden retriever for a day or weekend or week of hiking. A few years ago, I gave into inevitability and became an ecologist. As with teaching, ecology can only be a calling. I have great friends and family who I don't see often enough. Life is good, challenging but good.

    • Close Bipolar Disorder

Life is very good at times, and tough at other times. I've been living with bp since childhood. With the moodswings and instability, my folks took me to doctors and the doctors never understood. I was finally diagnosed for depression in my late twenties and bp about seven years ago. The meds are working. Hope happens.

      Treatments

      Fish Oil Somewhat Helpful
Might be working, who knows. I'm going to keep at it.
      Lamictal Working / Worked
Worked until the stress of my job made me crash through the drugs like a tsunami. I am on 200 mg per day and will increase the dose when I can afford to.
      DailyStrength Working / Worked
It has been nice to relate to others with this condition. I've met some cool people here and love journaling!
    • Close Healthy Sex

There really is a place where adults can rationally and respectfully discuss sexuality? Amazing!
