Close Acromegaly

I was diagnosed in October 2007 with a pituitary macroademona and acromegaly after attempting to understand decreased vision, hair loss, and severe and frequent headaches, among many other typical acromegaly symptoms. I had two surgeries, one in November of 2007 and the second in April of 2008) with residual tumor in the cavernous sinus cavity remaining. Post-surgery, I began Sandostatin LAR injections and soon reached the maximum dosage to control hormone levels.

Treatments

Octreotide Somewhat Helpful

The maximum dosage of Sandostatin LAR lowered growth hormone levels within the normal range for approximately 15 months. Recently, my IGF-1 has begun to increase.
