I found this website while searching for answers after my brother was diagnosed with RCC that metastisized to other parts of the body including the brain. He just turned 49 years YOUNG on 9/26/2009. Apparently it is an automatic Stage IV diagnosis once it spreads but WHAT does it mean? I am trying to educate myself regarding RCC to find out if there is any HOPE? or will he be gone before his 50th birthday?

For your brother, for your family.
MsGrace is a wonderful person who has 'walked the walk', she's great! I second what she said, and again, there's plenty of true RCC survivors to lean on here that really mean the hugs they send. Bye for now, hugs, Hunter
Hello and WELCOME!
There are many sites, regarding MRCC. I don't know any addresses, but think the Mayo Clinic is excellent.
My husband has stage IV renal cell carcinoma also. His metasticised to his lungs last March. I totally relate to your anxiety, Hon.
Please know that there are many new drugs out there to slow this beast down, and give our loved ones better quality of life. I'll be anxious to hear what your brother's oncologist recommends. I believe they usually do radiation on the brain also.
So glad you came to the DS family. There are so many wonderful people here, much more knowledgeable than I. Sure you will be hearing from some of them.
Take it one day at a time, and be thankful for each one. God be with you.
Love,
Ingrid
