Affected Areas: Psoriasis of the JointsI have lived with psoriatic arthritis for over ten years. I have not, and will never, let this disorder get me down; I am a Kindergarten teacher and avid cyclist who is constantly looking for ways to alleviate some of my discomfort.
Treatments
- Massage Working / Worked
- I would utilize this more often if I could...I always leave a massage feeling good, good, good!!!!
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- Discontinued use because it may have been causing my skin nodules.
- Phototherapy Working / Worked
- I love the sun--it helps me emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Skin cancer, be damned!!!
Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I am always looking for new and innovative ideas for dealing with my psoriatic arthritis.
Treatments
- Celebrex Working / Worked
- A good pain reliever, but not worth the risk of heart issues.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- Discontinued use as it caused skin nodules on my hands and elbows.
- Orencia Working / Worked
- So far, so good...I get one infusion per month.
- Prednisone Not Working
- Run from this if you can! Caused irritability, incredible weight gain, and hair loss. I have not used it for ten years.
- Cycling Working / Worked
- The point is keep moving!! I have severe PA yet I cycle up to 100 miles per week. There is nothing that we cant do.
