About Me
Pretty much have had pain & stiffness since my early 20's. Had surgeries on my feet and knee still never questioning why. Had a miscarriage recently which caused a flare. My body feels alien to me now and am pateintly waiting for my first rheumatologist appointment (apparently a 3 month waiting period is the norm in the valley-so much for getting treatment early) Never heard of RA until I got the blood results back and now reading up on it I have lightbulbs going off left & right!

I love music so I can relate to you relaxing to it or wanting new ideas. I sometimes wonder what the world would be like without it...pretty boring I think. I hope you are feeling well! Thanks for the great discussion post. Take Care! Leanne

It depends on what dose of prednisone you take....higher doses (like anything over 15 mgs) will make me swell up too, as it causes water retention. Below 15 mgs I have no swelling. Pred also increases your appetite which can cause weight gain over the long haul (however MDs generally only give pred for a short period of time, until they can get you on another treatment). Be careful about refusing to take it if you really need it though...if you leave RA untreated (assuming you have it), the joint damage that can occur in a very short period of time could render you unable to work at all...and that's not a good situation to be in either.

Welcome to the forum...I hope you get some answers both here and at the rhuemys. You have suffered far too long. Hugs!

Your welcome. I have been down a rough road with this disease and what it has done and what we have or haven't been able to link to it. So if you need anyone to talk to about it just reach out to me... I'm usually around more so now that I am on Long Term Disability after 34 years. But i beat the age they said i would bee in a wheel chair by 2 years (they said 45 i am 47) and still I am not in a wheel chair only using a walker once in awhile so..I believe i am still winning the battle.
Keep in touch I know how hard it is even years after losing a pregnancy remember one thing it is what was for the best based upon God's plan ( i do not preach just sharing my belief..) There has too be a bigger plan than what we face in this world.. Bless you also...

Treatments
- D&C Working / Worked
- First they gave me methotrexate to go home and "pass" and it seemed to work. Hemmoraged 3 weeks later and had to have the D&C anyways. I wish I would have done the D&C in the first place. Less emotionally traumatizing. No side effects after that.
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- It made me pass the baby and water sack but must not have worked entirely. Hemmoraged 3 weeks later and had to have a DC.
