Close Multiple Myeloma
Stage: I

I am a 45 year old African American female. I am being treating for hyperthyroid and recently had a hysterectomy because of fibroids. Discovered MM thru lab work (protein in urine and blood). Bones are fine and kidney function is good. Previous doctor saw protein about 6 years ago but treated for hypertension and pre-diabetes. Never felt that was the problem but allowed him to put me on medication "to preserve my kidney function." Was severely anemic before hysterectomy but always tired.

Treatments

Chemotherapy Somewhat Helpful

Did 3 cycles but didn't get the results the doctor was hoping for. IGG levels slowly decreasing (at one point increased slightly) and protein levels decreasing slowly.

Dexamethasone Somewhat Helpful

Revlimid Too Soon to Tell

Will start this soon with Dexamethasone

Thalidomide Somewhat Helpful
