Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed when I was 14 yrs old and lived a normal, pain free life until last year when I had a significant flare up that hospitalized me for a week. Since then, I have had minor flare ups. Having 14 years of pain free remission spoiled me greatly. I have some occasional abdominal pain and fatigue, but I can deal with it. I try to keep a positive attitude and help others do the same.
Treatments
- Asacol Working / Worked
- It worked for the first 6-7 years. First medicine I was given after being diagnosed. I am now taking Pentasa.
- Azathioprine Working / Worked
- Currently taking Imuran. Seems to be working.
- Flagyl Working / Worked
- Was on this while in the hospital. Worked great.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Was on this while in the hospital. Worked great.
- Asacol Working / Worked
- Worked for a long period of time, but doctor now feels it may have run it's course.
