Close Asthma
Type: Adult AsthmaRight now I am here because my asthma is affecting my ability to live my life and I'm getting very depressed. Right now I need hope.
Treatments
- Advair Working / Worked
- No longer on it. Didn't work.
- Albuterol Somewhat Helpful
- Per a pulmonologist, my asthma is not always responsive to bronchodilators.
- Breathing Exercises Working / Worked
- They do help. I don't undersatnd why I don't do them every day. I think it is because I am depressed.
- Flovent Somewhat Helpful
- Not on it anymore. Didn't help enought.
- Foradil Working / Worked
- Worked for years. Then stopped working when I was exposed to massive amounts of perfume at my job. The exposure continued for 2 years while I fought fot an ADA accommodation. Fordil was no match for perfume.
- Immunotherapy Working / Worked
- Have been receiving allergy shots for dust, cats, mold and ragweed for about 14 months. Doctor said it takes 5 years to work and it is effective in 70% of patients.
- Inhaler Working / Worked
- Sometimes works.
- Pulmicort Not Working
- Didn't work. No longer on it.
- QVAR Working / Worked
- My doctor gives me QVAR when I get really sick. It is in addition to my Symbicort.
- Serevent Not Working
- Didn't work. No longer on it.
- Singulair Not Working
- I've been on and off of it for years. I see no difference in my condition when I am on it. I've been taking it for a year now (this time). I see no difference but I will continue to take it because my doctor told me to.
- Symbicort Working / Worked
- Doesn't control 100% but it helps.
- Xolair Working / Worked
- Have been receiving 250 mg injection once a month for 15 months. A LOT of improvement, but I want more.
- Xopenex Somewhat Helpful
- Works sometimes.
Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
IC affects my life daily. I always have symptoms.
Treatments
- Baking Soda Working / Worked
- Baking soda helps.
- Elmiron Somewhat Helpful
- Doesn't help as much as I would like it to. No side effects.
- Pyridium Somewhat Helpful
- Helped for a while but I had to take more and more of it. I don't take it anymore.
- Valium Working / Worked
- I take 510 mg valium at night to sleep. I dont know why but as soon as I lay down at night my bladder begins to spasm.
