About Me
PHILOSOPHY-"In the midst of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." Humans are resilient & the power of appreciating the little things/seeing the positives in even the worst situations is profound! PROFESSION-Doing all I can to be as healthy as possible; med care & bureaucracies; research/searching for answers so I might one day live a normal life again! PASSIONS-MANY. Biggest: socializing animals (esp. feral cats) so they're adoptable; many social issues; LEARNING

I'm so sorry about your cat!! I lost my Guy last winter. They take up such a special place in our hearts, especially for those of us so sick. My thoughts are with you.

Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Have severe CFS/CFIDS-9+ years. Desperate to find resources for potential helps/treatments, & to be part of a community where people understand the: 1-Difficulty helping friends/family understand/getting their support for something that's not real to them ("laziness"/character flaw); 2-Frustration & devastation of CFS (& wisdom gained-little things appreciated because you can't take ANYTHING for granted, acquired ability to easily differentiate btwn important/unimportant)--PEOPLE WHO GET IT!
Treatments
- Klonopin Somewhat Helpful
- Lexapro Not Working
- AWFUL! Made my symptoms worse and caused increased appetite/weight-gain, which means less energy & more depression
- Pain Management Clinic Somewhat Helpful
- Have had difficulty getting them to appreciate/understand that pain is merely a component, and for me, by far less important than fatigue, brain fog, immune issues, etc.
- Paxil Not Working
- Didn't work for me. Haven't used in a very long time.
- Adderall Working / Worked
- I wouldnt be able to function without itPERIOD. It makes it possible for me to focus and get a few things done several daysweek. Downside side effects especially increased heart rate which can be a problem for me with my workouts. Also hate that it makes me thirsty thus also sweaty all the time.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Helps with frustration and depression decreases pain improves sleep and energy and gives me something I can be successfulsee progress in. I struggle MIGHTILY with moderation often overdoing it which is profoundly counterproductive causing crashes and having trouble finding the right balance. Want to find trainer w a LOT of CFS knowledge.
Close Arthritis
Have had arthritis since childhood and am having more difficulties than most people my age. Would also like to find resources about treatment options as MANY of the medication tx's aren't options for me.
Treatments
- Acupressure Working / Worked
- Glucosamine/Chondroitin Somewhat Helpful
- Pain Management Clinic Somewhat Helpful
- Relafen Somewhat Helpful
- Helped me quite a bit, BUT I went into acute renal failure because of LT use, so can no longer use any NSAID's
- Swimming Working / Worked
Open Diets & Weight Maintenance
Had WLS almost 2 years ago, and lost over 100 pounds. However, gained 10 back, and wanted to lose 30 more. So, I need support and motivation to knock out the last 30-40 pounds, especially now that I no longer have the help of surgery to lose it.
Treatments
- Counting Calories Not Working
- Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Slim-Fast Not Working
- Weight Watchers Somewhat Helpful
Open Pet Bereavement
I lost my baby, best friend, companion, & service animal on 10-17. Adopted @ 4 wks old, he lived for 14 1/2 years. Beau was an exceptional cat loved by all who met him. He's my furry soulmate, a once in a lifetime companion who literally saved my life, changed my world, & gave me unimaginable joy, strength & love. I miss him so very, very much, feel like my heart has been torn apart, and need support so I can move on & live the life he'd want for me, but still have him in my heart every day.
