Close Behcet's Disease

My daughter 8 yrs old was diagnosed with behcets this year 2009. She has been sick for several yrs and the docs always thought just s sick child she will grow out of it. Well she became very ill with mouth sores, genital sores, sores in her ear, high fever and her infectious disease dr ran many test, gastro doc did a endoscopy and colonoscopy and they came to the conclusion she has some of the signs of behcets disease. It makes me very sad that their is not much knowledge on this disease.

Treatments

Prednisone Somewhat Helpful

It has made her gain weight, very puffy, no growth at all. She hasnt had any mouth sores until they dropped the dose down to 2 mls daily now she has sores in the back of her throat and has been running a temp for 7 days. I would prefer her to not be on them because of the side effects that can happen
