    • About Me

I have chronic pain resulting from nerve damage caused from multiple surgeries for endometriosis. My right hip and back are mostly affected, so I spend a lot of time in bed trying to relieve the pressure. I try to maintain a positive attitude - believing everything happens for a reason, and perhaps my lesson in all this is to learn patience and acceptance. I still struggle every day with staying positive, being healthy, remembering to eat when I don't feel like it, and doing what's best to be the healthiest I can be.

I have Endo. Currently am permanently disabled due to effect of multiple surgeries resulting in nerve damage.

      Treatments

Controlled the pain moderately well as long as I didn't have a period.
      Laser Surgery Working / Worked
worked for 2 years at a time. Had 5 surgeries. Cumulative effect has resulted in Chronic Nerve Damage leaving me permanently disabled.
      Mirena Working / Worked
As long as I don't have a period, works moderately well in terms of period control. Still need pain relief on a daily basis
      Surgery Working / Worked
      5 Surgeries, see laser surgery.
      Lupron Working / Worked
Worked for pain control but side effects were so bad I couldnt cope. Memory loss was so bad I couldnt travel from home to work at one point. Was on for much longer than recommended
    • Close Chronic Pain

I have chronic pain due to multiple surgeries, it affects my right hip, my back and my abdomen

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Working / Worked
Combined with other treatments, part of my regimen
      Heat Working / Worked
Works to alleviate some of my pain.
      Hydrocodone Not Working
      Irritated my stomach.
      Lyrica Not Working
Slept all the time. Left me so stoned I couldn't function.
      Marijuana Working / Worked
Works, but not prescribed, don't use it because it's illegal. Worked when I was younger and more daring. *wistful sigh*
      Meditation Working / Worked
      Helps on the bad days
      Methadone Working / Worked
Part of my current regimen, leaves me tired. Have cut my dosage in half in last year. YAY ME!
      Naproxen Not Working
      Doesn't do anything.
      Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
Worked in beginning, had to abandon after 4 years, stopped working.
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
Too short acting, moved to Methadone, as more long-acting med.

      Lifesaver! Fantastic!
