Mother is 72. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers 10 months ago. She has been on all of the medications for the disease and has adverse reactions to them. She is currently in the hospital. She is now paranoid and combative. We are trying to get her out of her home with little success.

Treatments

Exelon Somewhat Helpful

Could not tolerate the pills due to GI upset. Could not tolerate the patch because the adhesive gave her blisters.

Namenda Not Working

Increased paranoia and tremendous mood swings. Did not work for her at all.

Razadyne Somewhat Helpful

Stopped taking due to increased GI upset.

Risperdal Too Soon to Tell

On a small dose now. Unsure of any therapeutic affect.

Seroquel Not Working

We think it had the opposite effect on her than it should have.

Reading Somewhat Helpful

Works when I can stay calm.
