Recently diagnosed with RA. Work full-time and have two young children. Looking for encouragement and advice and to help others going through similar challenges.

Treatments

Folic Acid Somewhat Helpful

Had to increased dose to 2 mg because of suffering side effects from methotrexate.

Methotrexate Too Soon to Tell

Have not seen improvement yet. Taking once weekly and had to stop because of a virus. Hope to start back soon.

Prednisone Somewhat Helpful

Has helped some with inflammation. Trying to taper down on dosage but have had flares even with gradual decreases. Only thing keeping me functioning right now. CRP is still very elevated while on 30 mg of pred a day.

Tai Chi Considering

Have ordered Tai Chi exercise DVDs and hoping the exercise will help with pain range of motion and flexibility.
