Close COPD & Emphysema
My wife has COPD, emphysema, Asthma and has just started Oxygen daily. I am looking for information on her condition and tips for living with it. Thanks for the site!
Treatments
- Advair Working / Worked
- Recently started with Advair (500 mg). Caused thrush in the mouth and seemed to hold her back. Dr. just put her on oxygen and steroids. Huge improvement!
- Albuterol Somewhat Helpful
- Great rescue medicine but switched to xopenex due to the environment.
- Spiriva Working / Worked
- Seems to be much better than Symbicort or Advair.
- Symbicort Working / Worked
- Not as effective as oxygen and spiriva. Didn't seem strong enough
- Xopenex Working / Worked
- Not as good as albuterol but helps.
Close Diabetes Type 2
Mom's diabetes. Need to help her but hard to get the right advice.
Treatments
- Glyburide Working / Worked
- Takes one capsule in the a.m. with food and one in the evening with food.
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- Takes once daily, 50
- Lantus Working / Worked
- Not sure how it is supposed to work
