    • Close Depression

Diagnosed with depression and anxiety stretching back 20 years. In last few months, I have had blood tests and low testosterone and thyroid(T3) were found. Both of these can cause depression symptons. This is widely un-diagnosed and I believe is affecting many more people as a root cause of the depression/anxiety. I am administering testosterone therapy daily for hypogonadism while still taking my anti-depressant. Anti-depressants have not consistently worked for me, which is also an indicator that there is something hormonal involved. I am not saying that I am not depressed, just that need to fix the physiological ssymptons too. It is too easy for the MD's to have you try a new drug. Only 30 % of the people on anti-depressants actually find relief and that could be do to the root cause being hormonal instead. The thyroid controls all the chemicals in the body and if it is not functioning properly, you will not be getting the right chemicals when and where you need them. Make your doctor take blood and complete a full panel on thyroid. Research it and be your own best advocate. Blessings - GareBare333

worked for 5 years and then started getting headaches and loss of short term memory. Decided to get blood test and found that there were other issues testosterone and thyroid. Force doctor to check these things out so you too are not just masking other physical issues. I have actually lost 1.5 in height which is caused by low testosterone. Also know your family history and provide that in detail to your doctors genetics play a huge role.
      Testosterone Working / Worked
been on it for a week and beginning to see the positive affects. Will be up and down for 3 or 4 weeks until levels stabilize. I was 240 on normal scale of 280 800. FREE testosterone was 1.02 on normal scale of 16 2.9. PLEASE get yourself checked for this.
