WELCOME to the DS family! We are so happy that you have decided to join us. You will find many special people here.
My husband had a right nephrectomy 10/07. In March, 2009, a scan showed mets to both lungs. He went on Sutent, and it almost killed him. It attacked all his major organs. His one kidney is so badly damaged, and is only working at 20%. As you might imagine, his options for further treatment are extremely limited. We are driving to Charlotte, NC, today and will see another doctor. There is ALWAYS HOPE! God is AWESOME, and we're trusting Him completely.

Treatments
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- torisil - great 1st report after scan - Dr.took my husband off of it "to give him a break " after 4-5 weeks off, the next scan was not as good. We never knew if the time off made a difference. He then said there was nothing else he could put him on and suggested trials. We changed Drs. and are so glad we did.
- Interferon Working / Worked
- The new Dr. put him on this, had good reports, did good at first after 5-6 mo. it began to take its toll. Came off for Afinitor.
- Nephrectomy Working / Worked
- Left kidney removed when diagnoised in 2005
- Nexavar Working / Worked
- Good reports, after about 6 mo. reports no real good, went on Sutent. No side effects.
- Sutent Working / Worked
- Worked good, after 6 mo., the scan showed new places so he went on torisil. Only side effect, loss of hair.
