Former teacher.Married-2 adult children.Many ailments causing pain,often chronic.On antidepressants for years-not a problem in itself.Feel very isolated(because I am so often ill) outside of my family,who are very understanding/supportive.Mourn-every day-the loss of the well,fit,happy Me,of my youth.

Close Chronic Pain
Was having quite a good life when pain in strange places started an 8 yr search for the reason.After being called neurotic by 1 specialist,I was finally given a diagnosis of fibromyalgia.For a long time that was enough to deal with.Then followed knee surgery(arthritis)x2,gynie surgery,various other surgeries,then last year, psoriatic arthritis!I get over one crisis before being pulled down again by yet another thing.People are starting to notice(and that is unusual).My meds list is scary.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- tried many years ago and did absolutely NOTHING for me
- Heat Working / Worked
- Made my own in various sizes and shapes.Use them for so many pain problems.They even get me back to sleep when I need it.
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- unfortunately,while it works,it causes gastric problems for me
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- use physio extensively.very helpful.my therapist knows that I need very light touch,gentle massage, and heat
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- used a long time ago-machine on loan from physiotherapist
