I am well beyond stressed out. My father was diagnosed with cll about two years ago. On april 2009 his level of a platlet count were 141,000 and they have always pretty much been there. his wbc was at 13. the doctor had done a ct scan just to make sure things were in good shape. Things were good they said????? Well since that time he went to the doctor a week ago and his platelet count was a 22,,000. his wbc was a 15. They told him he needed a ct scan again to figure out if things were swollen or out of order, before they choose to do anything. Welll it came back ok. Nothing was greatly inlarged. So before the ct scan they said take steriods. well they get ct back and nothing is wrong there but they tell him oh get chemo. I am so confused because how can it drop from 141,000 to 22,000 in just 4 months. Furthermore how can they not be able to tell him whats wrong and say ok lets do chemo. Also does this mean that he has the worst possible stage of cancer now because of this platlet count. I dont understand any of this
