Hi there...I'm so sorry about your dad...I may have a way that you can help your 3 year old cope w his death....my sister also had a grandson who was 3 when she died..his parents told him that she was turning into an angel...of course you have to educate him about angels and God and how your dad is going to help God collect the angels..etc..but when i saw this boy, he told me that his Gma had turned into an angel and that he wouldn't see her again until he was also an angel someday. I just found this to be so comforting to him. He was around her when she was sick and dying and eventually became more aloof as her body became more dysfunctional...he somehow just knew what was happening. I believe kids are more adaptable than we give them credit for and they are SO intuitive...it was really hard for my sister to know that she wouldn't be alive to see him grow up since she had a lot to do w raising him..but somewhere down the line in her coming out of denial that she was dying, she just let go of controlling his life and realized that she had to let him go...it was so sad but necessary ya know? Kids understand things in ways we can never imagine...love to you
