      From CAP1948 October 13

It's so nice of you to think of me. We have the option of standing stations, but standing is impossible for me. 5 minutes and I'm done. It's pretty much lose/lose as far as work goes. I lost my job last winter which was once where I sat a lot but also had the freedom (and need) to get up and move around throughout the day. I had been there for 18 years. So - then I found this job. I couldn't afford not to take it. There's not very much I'm able to do. Sitting may hurt, but I can manage to do it.

I've tried Flexeril. I LOVE it, but it really puts me in a fog. I sort of change my drugs around from time to time because I think my body gets use to one and just stops responding. I have another muscle relaxer (can't remember the name right now,and I'm too lazy to get up and look) that I've been taking at night and it has allowed me to cut down on the sleeping pills. The doctor said I need to cut down on the stress in my life, but I don't know how to do that. My son has brain tumors and we live our lives in 3 month chunks from MRI to MRI. You barely hear the results of one and he's due for another. It's been 5 years and we've only had good news twice. His next procedure is gamma knife on Nov 4. I'm really scared. All these procedures carry risks which can affect the rest of your life.

Thanks again for the encouragement. I really needed it.

    • Moment of Peace

      From Kon October 4

I just now read a discussion post in the back pain group that really made me ashamed of some of the folks in that group. I tend to mostly float around reading discussion post entries rather then responding for the same reason, I would try to give an opinion or share my experience and so often would feel attacked if it varied from the "norm" (that day).
I do hope you find some support and wish you continued success on your healthful living plan. Sincerely, Kon

    • Close Healthy Eating

To find ideas for continuing my healthy eating plan. I lost 35# to treat my chronic back condition because the doctors cannot fix it without further surgery. I need to maintain my weight loss for my back and walk 5 days weekly. This website can help to inspire me by others information.

      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
My physical therapist said to walk 5 days weekly for my chronic back condition or to swim. I hate swimming so I now walk 5 days weekly.
