Close Bipolar Disorder
I've struggled with Bipolar Disorder my whole life...among other things. Put on medication at age 5 until 16.
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- It didnt really do anything...no bad side effects but didnt do anything positive either.
- Depakote Not Working
- I gained about 50 pounds on this stuff. Not to mention I became alot more aggressive and angry...even waking up in my sleep yelling and screaming at people...and not remembering it.
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- It was somewhat helpful...however, Im not much of a group therapy kind of person.
- Risperdal Working / Worked
- I took this so long ago that I really can't recall. Obviously there was something wrong with it because I wasnt on it for long.
- Seroquel Not Working
- I overdosed on this stuff when I was a teenager. I was in a coma for three days and I was very close to death.
- Topamax Not Working
- I became dillusional and violent.
- Trileptal Not Working
- I felt more anxious and irritated on this...I didnt like it at all.
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Again, I felt increase in irritation and anger on this.
Close Physical & Emotional Abuse
I experienced alot of physical and emotionally abuse as a child and teenager by my step father, father and grandmother and mother.
Treatments
- Abuse Counseling Working / Worked
- It helped so much and I've come a long way.
- Leave Working / Worked
- I got away at age 13...finally...by being in Foster Care until I turned 18.
Open Sexual Abuse
Sexually abused by step father as a child.

- Leave Working / Worked

Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionIve struggled with depression all of my life and its effected my life so tremendously in such a negative way.
Treatments
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- hated this...I was always on edge.
- Paxil Not Working
- Did nothing to help but no bad side effects.
- Prozac Not Working
- Took this as a child and was like a zombie. Slept all the time and was lifeless and numb. I even pee'd the bed or fell asleep on the toilet all the time! Horrible experience.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- Seroquel Not Working
- Overdosed on this as a teenager. Was in a coma for three days and was very close to death.
- Trazodone Not Working
- I became angry and irritable
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Writing Working / Worked
- Worked exeptionally well for me. Got poems published...yay (lol)
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Helped somewhat...but I gained weight.
