Another day is over. I went to my appt. at the Ortho clinic. I took my x-rays from 2 months ago and was promptly told they were old. Anything over 1 …

Thank you so much!! Strangely it feels good knowing that there is someone out there who understands. I'm going to try for disability soon. My walking has become harder and I have actually been asked in Target if I'm ok because i'm stumbling like a drunk. And those are my good days!! I can't imagine going back to work or trying to find a job right now. Two to three days out of each week I feel like I have the worst case of the flu ever (after my Avonex shot) and the rest of the time I'm struggling for words or trying to remember what I did the day before or that morning. People have asked me if I have good days and no one seems to understand that a good day means more than a couple of hours with no pain or stumbling.

Thank you again!! Your message meant so much to me.

I am so sorry that you are having a rough time of it... I use every surface to balance myself, chairs, walls, railings... if it is close and if it is sturdy, it is there for my balance! The tough times is when I have to walk through a parking lot, or in an area that has no strong holds.
I will include you in my prayers this morning! Please be safe!

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I was finally diagnosed in 2006. I had needed to change my Dr. and went to one I already knew. We started dealing with my problems and then one day I asked if he thought I might have MS. He said lets find out and I had an MRI done. He immediately got me into see a neurologist and I had a sleep test along with an MRA and a spinal tap. Everyting indicated MS. The tap showed 5 distinct bands. So far I'm pretty lucky. My worst symptom is my drunken gait.

      Treatments

      Avonex Working / Worked
Since on it I've not noticed any worsening of symptoms. I've not had a problem giving myself the shots because I have a medical background and already give myself B-12 shots every month.
      Prednisone Working / Worked
It does a lot to help with pain. I know because the times I've forgotten it the pain pops right up to tell me. I've been on it for many years because I was diagnosed with MCTD years ago and that was the treatment.
      Sleep Not Working
My meds are not getting the job done right now. I do sleep but not sound enough and this is with faithful use of CPAP. I just don't feel rested.
