Sorry I can't check in as often with each of you like I want to. Just know that I am sending hugs your way and hope you are all doing okay.
Mom sat up longer today but of course with her Alzheimer's she wants to walk out the door. She told the nurse today she wanted to move back to TN. She told her when she gets well she can. LOL You have to go with the flow. I think tomorrow or Tuesday morning she will be transported to a rehab/nursing facilty. I dread it so bad.
I'm taking time this afternoon to be home and let the nursing staff do their thing. I appreciate them so much. I try to do as much as I can to take the load off of them at times though. They can only be in so many places at once.
I am definitely thinking of you all, wishing you bright days plus lots of strength. Be in touch again as I can.

It sounds like you have enough on your plate right now. I'm so happy for you that your mother really doesn't know what is going on, it sounds like she has a pretty sunny disposition most of the time and that's a blessing too.
Take care of yourself and treasure the good days and the happy times, hope there are many more in store for both of you.

My grandmother had some form of dementia. When she was recuperating from hip surgery, my mom and I flew back to MS to visit her. Once when I was alone with her, Grandma thought I was a girl from down the street who came to help out during the day. She kept saying she needed to get her husband's supper ready (he died way before I was born so I never got to know him) and tried to get out of bed. I told her we'd take care of it. Then she said she wanted biscuits and was going to get out of bed to make those. I calmed her down and said I'd make them. I left the room long enough to 'make' biscuits and then returned thinking she'd have forgotten about them by then. But about 20 minutes later, she asked if they weren't done yet! Now I was stuck! I went to the nurses station and told them what was going on and asked if they had something I could give her. The only thing she could have was graham crackers. I took some on a plate and Grandma ate them ... totally satisfied they were biscuits. Whew! Learned a good lesson though ... if its food, better be prepared to have some when its supposed to be ready! LOL
