I'm an artist and a recovering alcoholic/addict. I have depression and severe anxiety disorder, but I am stable now. My live-in boyfriend is bipolar and he is struggling now. I am looking for ways to help him.

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have major depression and severe anxiety and am a recovering alcoholic/addict. Right now my symptoms are stable. My live-in boyfriend has bipolar and is doing very poorly.We are struggling financially and he has no health insurance.
Treatments
- Effexor Not Working
- Lexapro Somewhat Helpful
- Prozac Working / Worked
- This worked well, but caused sever heartburn.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I haven't given this enough of a chance yet.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- it takes time,but works wonders for me!
Close Fibromyalgia
I developed acute fibro symptoms in 2005 after being abruptly taken off benzodiazapines(Valium, etc).
Treatments
- Gabitril Not Working
- This didn't treat the pain at all.
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- works great for nerve pain as well as ANXIETY- a definite PLUS, but causes the munchies and weight gain- yuck!
- Pamelor Working / Worked
- This worked very well in treating the horrible nerve pain, but i switched to Lyrica with the hopes that I would lose weight. I didn't.
Open Alcoholism
I have been in recovery for a few years now. 12-step meetings saved my life...

- Wonderful!!!
- AA Meetings Working / Worked
- I can't say enough good stuff about AA. Its definitely the most successful means of sobriety ever. It hasn't been around for 80+ years for nothin'!
- Detox Working / Worked
- This works only if you follow thru with some kind of maintenance plan.
- Sleep Working / Worked
- This is manditory.
Open Chronic Pain
I have fibromyalgia. Lyrica works very well for pain. The main thing that triggers my pain is lack of sleep.
