About Me
I am 25 and have been married since June 2008. We moved to the south from NY 3 years ago to buy a house to raise a family in. We have been together for 4 years and have been TTC since we got married. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 and it seems our only option to conceive is through IVF since I do not ovulate. I want nothing more than to be a wonderful, loving mother.

Reading, writing, painting, decorating my house, gardening, cooking and baking, pursuing my dream of becoming a mother and therapist (only a few more semesters left!!!), going to school, spending time with the hub and our 2 dogs.

Type: Hormonal DisordersPCOS diagnosed at age 15
Treatments
- Artificial Insemination Not Working
- We did 2 IUIs, one in April 2009 and the other in June 2009. Neither worked.
- Clomid Not Working
- First tried Clomid in January but it did nothing to stimulate ovulation so our doctor suggested we immediately move to IUI.
- Folic Acid Too Soon to Tell
- I have been taking a prenatal vitamin with folic acid for the entire year we have been ttc.
- Follistim Working / Worked
- I used Follistim with both of my IUI's. It only stimulated the growth of 1 follicle. I used it again with IVF and got 9 embryos, 4 which were grade A 8-celled.
- hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Somewhat Helpful
- Worked as part of the IUI cycles we did but we did not get pregnant. Used again during IVF.
- In Vitro Fertilization Too Soon to Tell
- Blood test 11/6 to see if first round of IVF worked.
- Lupron Working / Worked
- Used during IVF.
- Metformin Too Soon to Tell
- I have been on metformin since I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15.
- Progesterone Working / Worked
- My levels are looking good.
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 15. I have been on Metformin and BCP for 9 years, however, I have only been on Metformin for the last year as we have been trying to get pregnant.
Treatments
- Aldactone Somewhat Helpful
- Clomid Not Working
- Tried clomid in january '09 but nothing happened.
- Metformin Working / Worked
- Oral Contraceptives Working / Worked
- Definately helped reguate my hormones for 9 years
- Provera Working / Worked
- I've used this a fwe times priro to my IUIs. It has always worked for me to bring on a period.
