My nickname means stubborn and I am proud of it, but you deserve it more than me. Don’t you ever let MS keep you down, if you fall rest a little and get back up with pride. Since I am older than you I will call you Mulish2. God Bless.
Hi Nerisa,
I've thought about you a lot since you joined DS. I think it would be so hard to be your age and have this diagnosis. I mean I'm glad that we have the drugs we do now so that we at least have a fighting chance, but still I know that it's hard. Your family and faith will be a great strength to you. My faith and family help me also. I've prayed a lot and had many people praying for me and it does help. I'm good about taking my medication, but so far it hasn't worked for me so I'm going to try something else and hope for the best. Luckily I'm an optimist and I don't get depressed at least not so far even with MS and all my other weird stuff. My doctor says almost all of her MS patients are on antidepressants and always asks if I need some, but I honestly don't feel depressed. I'm pretty happy most of the time. I'm a counselor for college students with disabilities and the counselor in the office next to me is from Samoa. He's a great guy. He has a Ph. D. in counseling. We both do the same thing. It's really an interesting job.
Today I'm going for Solu-medrol then I go for more on Thursday and Friday. Fun! Hopefully it will stop my relapse. My doctor is also changing me from Rebif to Copaxone. She doesn't think Copaxone is going to really work though and if it doesn't she wants me to go on Tysabri if my insurance will approve it. Scary stuff, but worth I guess if it will stop this progression and allow me to keep walking. She has an infusion center right in her office which is close to my university where I work so it's very convenient for me. I just hope it works for me.
Well, sorry for rambling. Take care. I hope you find some answers and start feeling better soon. Take care and God bless.
